Privacy and Information Security

Community Bank and Trust has adopted the following principles:

At Community Bank and Trust, the basis of each customer relationship is trust. As financial services professionals entrusted with sensitive financial information, we respect the privacy of our customers and are committed to treating customer information responsibly. We believe that your privacy should not be compromised. At the same time, we want to offer you the array of financial products and services you need to accomplish your financial goals. We believe we can do both through the privacy policy outlined below.

Collection and Use of Customer Information:

We may collect nonpublic personal information about you from the following sources:

  • Information we receive from you on applications or other forms;
  • Information about your transactions with us, or our affiliates, or others; and
  • Information we receive from a consumer reporting agency

We may disclose all of the information we collect as described above to companies that perform joint marketing services on our behalf or to other financial institutions with which we have joint marketing agreements.  Those third parties contractually agree not to use the information for any other purpose.

Sharing Information with Third Parties:

We do not disclose any nonpublic personal information about our customers or former customers to parties outside our affiliated banks and companies for their independent use unless:

  • You request or authorize it
  • The information is provided to help complete a transaction initiated by you

  • The disclosure otherwise is lawfully permitted or required

Limitations on Access to and Protection of Information:

We restrict access to nonpublic personal information about you to those employees who have a legitimate business reason to know such information to provide products or services to you. We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with federal standards to guard your nonpublic personal information.

We believe the confidentiality and protection of customer information is one of our fundamental responsibilities. And while information is critical to providing quality service, we recognize that one of our most important assets is our customers' trust. Thus, the safekeeping of customer information is a priority for Community Bank and Trust.

Community Bank and Trust's "Privacy and Information Security Principles" will apply to customers' confidential and private information with regard to both traditional and non-traditional (i.e., Internet) banking activities.
